How we went about creating the award winning trips

LGT Golf is firmly geared to creating and providing golfing experiences that are unique, interesting and fun. There are a lot of golf travel products out in the market, and it is a challenge to create something different. The golf concierge service that we have created, coupled with the tranquil luxury of a river cruise through some of the most beautiful rivers in Europe and Asia provides a unique experience that I want to share with all of my guests.

It starts with finding a river cruise operator that provides the highest levels of service, gourmet food, and luxurious accommodation. AmaWaterways have the highest rated ships. 280 ships were graded, tested and secretly shopped. The Berlitz Guide (the definitive river cruise guide) put the AmaWaterways vessels into the top 11 spots.

We also had to find the golf courses that met our expectations. Not only from a guest experience point of view, but also the quality of the course and the fact that it hosts national and international professional tournaments. The prestige is certainly one element, but moreover its the required quality that the course must maintain to host a European Tour event that makes playing the course rather special. Our 2017 inaugural season highlights this with 4 European Tour venues and a National Seniors Open Championship Venue.

We then created the LGT Golf Concierge concept to marry the elements of luxury river cruise and championship golf. Our golf concierge will accompany each ship throughout its journey, picking up the golfers in the morning, bringing them to the club and in the afternoon bringing them back to the ship - even if it has moved on to another location. All this in our luxury Mercedes V Class Vans.

A typical cruise with golf is not cheap, with a lead price of €5130 for the whole package per person. Having said that, it includes 3 nights in the magnificent city of Prague, a 7 night luxury cruise with all meals and an excellent choice of international wines, the golf at 5 championship venues, private chauffeur and golf concierge all included.

We have also added a few further elements, including a tour Order of Merit with some fabulous prizes, no single supplement if there is only a single golfer on board the ship. In fact we will provide a playing partner free of charge.
